I watched Val Kilmer
film himself
conceding
his throat to cancer,
talking through
a machine;
it was like I was
at a sudden funeral
for myself–
like reading
a gospel of snow
I found in the hills
& told no one of.
Bill Neumire’s first poetry collection, Estrus, was a semi-finalist for the 42 Miles Press Award, and his second book, #TheNewCrusades, was a finalist for the Barrow Street Prize.
