Submission guidelines
- Have a Seat at the Table! Submissions to The Seat are currently OPEN. Send up to three poems or one review (250-500 words) to table4deuce@gmail.com.
- Reviews may focus on a single poem, book, a television episode, a song, etc. If you can relate it back to poetry somehow, bonus points. What we want is honest, thoughtful, dynamic engagement, whether it be humorous or wholehearted, glowing or glowering.
- In the subject line, please put the GENRE and YOUR NAME. “Poetry - Rupi Kaur” or “Other People’s Poetry - John Kucera,” for instance.
- Bios, cover letters, credentials = fluff and are absolutely optional. We will request additional information as needed once a piece is accepted.
- T4D requests first North America serial rights for any work that we accept for publication. All rights revert to the author upon publication, though we ask you acknowledge The Seat: Poetry & Reviews if the work is published elsewhere. At this time we are unable to pay our contributors.
- We will consider poems or reviews that were featured in now defunct journals as long as you hold the rights and they are not published in a collection.
- Submit only once until you receive a response you eager beavers.
- Paste work into the body of the email or send an attachment. If you send an obscure attachment we can’t open, consider it roasted.
- Simultaneous submissions are NOT permitted. Just kidding. What are we, monsters? Sim sub to your heart’s content since our response times vary.
